SO IT’S TRUE! Almost half a million Brit’s have bought their ’homes in the sun’ and many more are planning to do so (a recent Mintel survey states). Even greater numbers would do so, apparently, but for fear of rogue estate agents and unscrupulous lawyers etc....

The really good news for those considering Austria for their ’place in the sun’, is that the property market is very tightly regulated by Austrian law. Furthermore, all the Austrian estate agents with which we deal are registered and knowledgeable about the rules in place for the protection of buyers and sellers. For a property investment plan Austria may represent a very good option... In recent research carried out by the makers of the hit Channel 4 programme ‘A place In The Sun’ it was estimated that £100,000 of property investment in Austria could be worth £311,000 in 10 years time, an increase of 211%, thus putting it ahead of Cyprus, France, Spain and Italy. When you factor in a serious risk/benefit analysis of the various countries (see the relevant ’Rough Guide To...’ for a realistic assessment of crime, organised crime and possible endemic corruption) and evaluate such things as a flooded/limited rental market and the possible/probable lack of buyers to sell on to, once prices have risen, you are quite likely to conclude that Austria could be one of the best places in which to invest:
